{{page>:fotomagico}} ~~NOTOC~~ ====== Image Browser ====== Click the Images icon in the toolbar to reveal the //Image Browser// in the sidebar. {{ en:toolbar-images-button.png }} The list at the top shows your Photos, iPhoto, Aperture, and Adobe Lightroom libraries, or any Finder folder containing image files. You can exclude some of these libraries or folders by unchecking the corresponding items in the [[fotomagico_preferences|Preferences]] window. Drag any folder that contains images to the list to permanently add this folder to the list. Optionally you can right-click on the list background to show a context menu and select the Add Folder… command. Remove the folder again by selecting Remove Folder from the context menu. The images of the currently selected library, album, or folder are displayed below the divider line. Drag the divider line up all the way to collapse the list of libraries to a small popup menu. This maximizes the amount of vertical space available for the Image Browser. This is especially helpful on small notebook displays. Select one or more images in the browser and drag them to the Storyboard or Stage to add them to your slideshow.
Albums in Photos, iPhoto, Aperture, or Adobe Lightroom are a great way to organize images you might want to use for a slideshow. Choose the album from the list (or popup menu), then select all images in the browser and drag them to the Storyboard or Timeline.
==== Live Searching ==== If you want to search for specific images, type a word into the search field below the Image Browser. Searching works best if your image files have been given a caption in iPhoto, Aperture, or Lightroom. Captions are more descriptive than the filenames assigned by your digital camera. ==== Get Info ==== {{en:shared-get-info.png }} Click on the small info button or choose Get Info from the context menu in the browser to get information about a selected image. ==== Quick Look ==== {{en:shared-quicklook.png }} Select an image and press the Quick Look button or press ⌘Y or choose the Quick Look command from the context menu in the browser to open the Quick Look panel. You can then quickly preview images stepping through them with the arrow keys. Press the Quick Look button or ⌘Y again to close the Quick Look panel. ==== Browser View Types ==== {{en:shared-view-type.png }} Select one of the options to display the images in your browser in icon, list, or combo view (a combination of both icon and list). ==== Icon Size ==== Drag the size slider to enlarge or decrease the size of the image thumbnails displayed in the browser. This slider is not available in list view.
